Zero tolerance
Safely exists to help people feel safer. Any use that harms other users, deceives the community, or targets individuals will result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
You must not
- Submit false, exaggerated, or fabricated incident reports.
- Use the SOS feature as a prank or non-emergency.
- Report incidents to harass, defame, or target a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
- Add someone as an emergency contact without their consent.
- Attempt to identify, track, or contact users based on incident locations.
- Scrape, mirror, or bulk-download incident data.
- Reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to bypass security controls.
- Use the service to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content.
- Impersonate Safely staff or another user.
- Circumvent moderation, suspension, or ban decisions.
Reporting abuse
Email abuse@saferoute.com with details and any evidence. Include the URL or approximate time and location of the content. We aim to review reports within 3 business days.
Enforcement
Depending on severity we may issue a warning, remove content, temporarily suspend the account, or permanently terminate it. Serious violations (e.g. targeted harassment, false SOS abuse) may be reported to authorities.
